How was Church responsible For the French Revolution?

The citizens of France were already burdened with the high taxes of the government as they were forced to pay these taxes. But in the same way, the church also demanded taxes from the people. Especially, the Peasants were forced to pay taxes to the church called Tithes. It included direct tax called Taille and other indirect tax which were imposed on the product of consumption like salt and tobacco. This resulted in worsening the condition of the people and became the reason for the French revolution.
