Inside—Outside

It was a cold winter day. The An Arab man who is all covered with clothes and his head is covered too.  was travelling on the A camel back . 

At night, An Arab man who is all covered with clothes and his head is covered too.  pitched his tent A tent in desert. and went inside it. The A camel was outside.


An Arab man is sitting inside a hut like tent and a camel is asking him if he can put his neck inside the tent and the man agrees.


May I put my neck inside? It is too cold outside.

Okay!       

 You may put your neck inside.

Okay!You may put your front legs inside.

The camel asks man if he can come inside the tent and the man replies that the tent is too small for both of them.

Can I come inside? It is too cold outside.

Oh! No the tent is too small for both of us.


The camel is now sitting inside the hut like tent and the man is sitting outside it.

So I am coming inside and you go outside.

Bigger—Smaller

A child is  blowing bubbles from his mouth, bubbles are of different sizes. The ones near to his mouth are bigger and the ones on the top are smaller. The bubble to the top left side is the smallest.

Top—Bottom

There is a slide, one child is standing one ground with his one foot on the first stair of the slide, one child is at the top of the slide and the third is at the ground, just slided from the swing. Behind the slide is a tree, at the top of it, there is a bird and near it, on the ground, a cat is sitting.

A man is making pots of clay. There are three pots kept near him, lying one on top of the other. The biggest pot is at the bottom, above it is another pot and the smallest one is at the top.

  A cat is at the topmost level of a staircase and a dog  standing down is watching the cat.

Nearer—Farther

There is a house and two trees. One tree is nearer to the house and the other is little far away from the house. A bird is flying near the house and a smaller bird is flying near the tree away from the house.

A mouse is sitting near a tree, a cat is running towards the mouse and another cat is siting far away behind a rock.


Nearest-Farthest

A swing is tied with a rope to a branch of a tree, a boy is running towards it and he is closest to the swing,  From another side, a girl is also coming holding balloons in her hand and from the other side, another girl is coming, who is farthest from the swing.

In a classroom, there is a ceiling fan above the table, a cat is sitting on the table, a mouse is under the table and some children are sitting on the tables and some on desks. A child is standing on a table below the fan. Some bags and water bottles are lying on the floor in the room.

It is a village scene, in which is a tree near a well, a bird is sitting on the top of the tree, few women are drawing water from the well. Near the well, few children are sitting down. Few huts are there away from the well and a bullock cart is also there away from the well.

Discuss near-far, top-bottom.


Shapes around us

Put the shapes in the pink and yellow boxes by

drawing a line.

There is a boy sitting on the floor having a box in which he has put a dice and a girl is sitting next to him having a box in which she has put a ball. Different objects are given to be matched with these two shapes like a ball, an orange, a chalk  box, a tomato, a balloon, a small box and a big box.

Match the similar shapes by drawing a line.

  A ball, a tomato, a cuboid shaped box and a cube shaped box are drawn on a paper. The objects to be matched with them are a dice, a round balloon, a ball and a chalk box. The cube shaped box is already matched with the dice.

Teachers Note

Discuss with children, the basis on which they have sorted the objects.

Sorting

Sort shapes by joining with similar shapes.

  A child is holding a board on which, there is a circle, below which is a cone. In the next column, is a cube and below it is a cylinder. The objects to be matched with these shapes are a flask, an ice cream cone, a brick, a balloon, a ball, a box, a foil paper roll, a birthday cap, a watermelon, an orange, a candle, a tin can, a giftbox and a funnel.


Make pairs of similar shapes.

The first column shows a flask, a watermelon, a brick, a silver foil roll, an ice cream cone, a tomato, a funnel and a container. The second column shows a ball, a birthday cap, a balloon, a tin can, a gift box, a candle and a cone.  


Rolling—Sliding

Wise Grandmother

Once there was a Lamb going to see his grandmother.

A lamb, young one of a sheep is walking down a road.

On the way, through the jungle he met a wolf.

A wolf is saying to lamb that he will eat him.

I am going to eat you.

The lamb tells the wolf to let him go to meet his grandmother and to eat him once he returns and the wolf agrees.

Please let me go! I am going to meet my grandmother. You can eat me when I return.

Okay, you may go.

When he was about to return, he told the grandmother about the wolf.

The grandmother gave him an idea.

The lamb meeting a big sheep, his grandmother.

The lamb is hiding inside a dholak as he is told by his grandmother to do so.

Go, and hide yourself in a dholak.

He did so!

The grandmother rolled the dholak on the road.

The dholak is rolling down the road.

The dholak started rolling down.

The lamb saw the wolf waiting for him.

The wolf is asking the dholak if it has seen a lamb coming down, to which the dholak replies no.

Did you see a lamb coming this way?

No!


The wolf grew suspicious and started running behind the dholak.

The lamb is coming out of the dholak and running towards his house, the door of which is open. The wolf is running behind the dholak.

Before the wolf could catch him, the lamb reached home and was thankful to his grandmother.

The lamb is inside the house and the wolf is looking from outside.
