Market gardening is the production of fruits, vegetables and flowers as cash crops on relatively small scales and sold directly to consumers. It is both labour and capital intensive. It is practised near urban areas because there is good transportation links with urban centre and high group of consumers are located. It is mainly practised there for more and more profit.
