(a) Goiter
Reason: when thyroid gland is enlarged it causes diseases Goiter which is due to overstimulation of thyroid gland. When thyroid gland stimulates excessive thyroid hormone that is TSH or TSI than it causes Goiter.
(b) It is caused due to the deficiency of iodine in the diet that results in hyperthyroidism and enlargement of the thyroid gland commonly called Goiter in which thyroid hormone hormone form excessively.
(c) Hypothyroidism during pregnancy causes-
• Defective development and maturation of the growing baby leads to stunted growth (cretinism)
• Mental retardation
• Low intelligence quotient
• Abnormal skin
