An electric current of 2.0 A passes through a wire of resistance 25 Ω. How much heat will be developed in 1 minute?
Given-
Current through the wire, i = 2 A
Resistance of the wire, R = 25 Ω
Time taken, t = 1 min = 60 s
We know Joule’s heating effect, heat developed across the wire,
where,
I =current
R = resistance of the resistor
t = time for which current is flowing
Putting the value in the above formula, we get
⇒ = 2 × 2 × 25 × 60= 100 × 60 J = 6000 J
