The Dalit Panthers was the militant organisation of Dalit youths, which was formed in Maharashtra in 1972. Their main objective was to fight against caste based discrimination and material inequalities that they faced in spite of many laws that were made to protect them. They wanted effective implementation of such policies of social justice, and reservation.
