How does party-based movement differ from non-party movement?

In the party based movements, members and associations maintain close ties with political parties to ensure better representation. Whereas in Non-Party based movements, there are no ties with any one political party. These movements take place outside of electoral politics and engage in mass mobilization to convey their demands. Such movements took place when many sections of society became disillusioned with the functioning of political parties and lost faith in electoral politics. Unlike the party based movements where demands of local groups are represented by political parties, leaders of non party movements believed that direct participation by local groups or citizens would be more effective in resolving their issues, and thus chose to remain outside of party politics.
