In spite of how it all started there have been recent efforts to uplift relations between the two countries. For instance-

• Prominent social activists and other personalities come together to collaborate on issues of peace and friendship.

• Both have assured to try and reduce the risk of war.

• A number of bus and train routes have been opened up.

• The recent opening of the town Kartarpur which is believed to be a holy place for Sikh pilgrims and is currently located in Pakistan. Pakistan’s government has now granted access to Indian pilgrims to visit the holy shrine.

• Visas are given more easily.

• Trade has been flowing much better between the two countries.
