Analyse the political developments that led to the creation of Pakistan.

The political developments that led to the creation of Pakistan are:

*The two nation theory advanced by the Muslim League: The members of Muslim League demanded for completely different nations for Muslims. It states that Muslims and Hindus are two separate nations by every definition; that Muslims have their own customs, religion, and from every point of view like social, moral Muslims are different from Hindus. Muslim should be able to have their own separate homeland in the Muslim majority areas of India, in which Islam can be practiced as the dominant religion. Congress opposed the idea of forming a new country and this led to rise in competition between Congress and Muslim League.

*Several proposals containing dominion status for India offered by the British but were let down by Congress and Muslim league and finally, going by the demand of Muslim League they demarcated a line between India and Pakistan.
