Some oxidation reactions of methane are given below. Which of them is/are controlled oxidation reactions?
Methane on combustion gives CO2 and H2O. While combustion in presence of insufficient O2 gives soot (C(s)) and H2O.
Whereas methane on combustion under controlled conditions gives HCHO and CH3OH. Moreover the conditions under which the reaction is carried out are also mentioned which indicates that (iii) and (iv) are controlled oxidation reactions.
