Two cells of emf’s approximately 5V and 10V are to be accurately compared using a potentiometer of length 400cm.
A potentiometer can accurately measure emf of cells provided the potential drop across the potentiometer wire is greater than the emf of the cells to be compared. As 5 V and 10 V are to be compared, the potential drop across the wire has to be greater than 10 V.
