The historical forces that shaped the vision of the Constitution are as follows.

1.The Nehru report and the Fundamental Rights resolution passed by the Karachi session of the Indian National Congress.

2.Universal Adult Franchise, Right to Freedom and Equality and protection of Minorities were the three basic values.

3.The Congress and the other political parties were able to form government in the provinces after the 1937 election.

4.Many colonial laws had some influence over the Indian Constitution. Like the Government of India Act, 1935.

5.The ideals of the French Revolution, the parliamentary democracy in Britain, the Bill of Rights in U.S.A influenced the Indian Constitution.
