A circular road of radius 50 m has the angle of banking equal to 300. At what speed should a vehicle go on this road 80 that the friction is not used?
We know that, tanθ=v2/rg
Where, θ = angle of banking = 30°
v = speed of vehicle
r = radius of the circular path/ turn = 50 m
g = acceleration due to gravity = 10m/s2
⇒ tan30°= v2/(50×10)
⇒ v2 = 500/√3
⇒ v2 = 500/1.73
⇒ v = 16.99 ≈ 17 m/s
∴ The vehicle should go with a speed of 17 m/s.
