Is Archimedes’ principle valid in an elevator accelerating up? In a car accelerating on a level road?

The Archimedes principle states that the buoyant force is equal to the weight if the liquid displaced. An elevator accelerating upwards or a car accelerating forwards form non-inertial reference frames where an addition fictitious force acts on the particle which alters its true weight. Hence, the principle wouldn't be valid in these situations.
