Can we perform Young’s double slit experiment with sound waves? To get a reasonable “fringe pattern”, what should be the order of separation between the slits? How can the bright fringes and the dark fringes be detected in this case?

Young’s Double slit experiment can be performed using sound waves keeping in mind the same conditions applied for light waves. The slit width and separation should be comparable to the wavelength of the source of sound.

To detect loudness and absence of sounds, we can either use a sensitive electronic detector, or listen carefully to the pattern formed.
