A cylindrical tub of radius 12 cm contains water to a depth of 20 cm. A spherical form ball of radius 9 cm is dropped into the tub and thus the level of water is raised by h cm. What is the value of h?
Given that, radius of cylindrical tube = 12cm
Let height of cylindrical tube be h
Volume of the cylinder = πr12h = π (12)2 h --------(i)
Also given that, spherical ball radius (r2) = 9cm
Volume of sphere =
---------(ii)
Equating (i) and (ii), we get
⇒ h = 6.75cm
∴ level of water raised in tube = 6.75cm
