A circle of radius 2 cm is cut out from a square piece of an aluminum sheet of side 6 cm. What is the area of the left over aluminum sheet?
It is given in the question that,
Side of square = 6 cm
Area of square = (Side)2
∴ Area of square shaped sheet = (6)2
= 36 cm2
It is also given in the question that,
Radius of circle = 2 cm
As we know that,
Area of the circle = πr2
∴ Area = 3.14 × 2 × 2
= 3.14 × 4
= 12.56 cm2
Hence,
Remaining area of the sheet = 36 – 12.56
= 23.44 cm2
