The sides of the triangle are in the ratio 5: 12:13 and its perimeter is 150 cm. The area of the triangle is –

It is given in the question that,

The sides of given triangle are in the ratio 5: 12: 13

Let the sides be 5x, 12x and 13x

According to the question,

5x + 12x + 13 x = 150

30x = 150

x =

x = 5

So, 5x = 25

12x = 60

13x = 65

Semi-perimeter =

=

= 75 cm

Now, by using Heron’s formula we get:

Area of triangle =

=

=

= 750 cm2

Hence, option (b) is correct
