⇒ 3y = 12 – x

When x = 0, then,

⇒ y = 4

When x = 6, then,

⇒ y = 2

When x = 12, then,

⇒ y = 0

Now on plotting (0, 4), (6, 2) and (12, 0) we have the following graph,

Clearly from the graph,

Base of triangle = 12 – 0 = 12 units

Height of triangle = 4 – 0 = 4 units
