Coding Strand

(i) DNA strand which acts as a template for synthesis of RNA is called template strand

(i) Strand which is used for determining sequence of RNA strand is called coding strand

(ii) It has polarity 3'-5'

(ii) It has polarity 5'-3'

(iii) Template strand is complementary to RNA strand.

(iii) Coding strand is complementary to DNA strand except thymine instead of uracil.
