We know, Area of circle = Area of major sector + Area of minor sector

⇒ Area of circle = A_{1} + A_{2}

We also know, Area of circle = πR^{2}

Where R = radius of circle, put value of area of circle in equation 2.

(taking 5 as L.C.M on R.H.S)

= 288.75 cm^{2}

The area of major sector is 288.75 cm^{2}.
