Find the area of the rhombus, the lengths of whose diagonals are 30 cm and 16 cm. Also, find the perimeter of the rhombus.
Given:
Length of diagonal 1 (d1) = 30 cm
Length of diagonal 2 (d2) = 16 cm
Area of rhombus = 1/2 × d1 × d2
= 1/2 × 30 cm × 16 cm
= 240 cm2
Now,
Side of rhombus = 1/2 × √( d12 + d22)
= 1/2 × √( 302 + 162)
= 1/2 × √(900 + 256)
= 1/2 × √1156
= 1/2 × 34
= 17 cm
Therefore,
Perimeter of rhombus = 4 × Side of rhombus
= 4 × 17 cm
= 68 cm
