The present generation will receive a great advantage if the resources are exploited with short term aims but the future generations will not be benefitted as they will have no resources left for them to use. If these resources are managed on a long term perspective, it will lead to sustainable development i.e. there will be resources enough to be used by present generation as well as for to be used by the future generations yet to come.
