Propene on treatment with HBr in the presence of peroxide (anti-markovnikoff’s rule which states the negative part i.e. Br^- goes to the carbon which has more number of hydrogens and positive part i.e. H⁺ goes to the carbon which has lesser number of hydrogens) gives 1-bromopropane which on treatment with silver nitrite in the presence of alcohol or water gives 1-nitropropane as the final product.
