The common types of secondary structure of proteins are as follows:

1. Alpha Helix – In the alpha helix structure of protein the hydrogen bonds are placed regularly between the residues along the chain.

2. Beta-Pleated Sheet- In this structure the hydrogen bonds is present in the backbone of the residues in the adjacent chains.
