Kharif crops are grown between the month of June to September. Rice, soyabean, cotton are Kharif crops, whereas Rabi crops are grown between the month of October – March. Peas, wheat, gram etc are Rabi crops.
The Kharif crop soyabean and Rabi crop gram or peas are leguminous crops which can fix nitrogen due to the presence of Rhizobium bacteria in their root nodules.
