A pollutant is known to interfere with hemoglobin. Give its name.

Carbon monoxide interferes with hemoglobin. It is produced from incomplete combustion of fuels such as petrol and diesel. Carbon monoxide present in atmosphere tends to combine with Haemoglobin to produce carboxyhaemoglobin. It reduces oxygen carrying capacity of blood and leads to suffocation. Excess of carbon monoxide may even lead to death.
