No dry ice is not same as ordinary ice.

i. Solid carbon dioxide is known as dry ice.

ii. It is stored under high pressure.

iii. Solid CO₂ gets converted directly to gaseous state on decrease of pressure without changing into liquid state.

iv. Hence, solid CO₂ is called dry ice.
