Choose the forms in which most plants absorb nitrogen:

(i) Proteins

(ii) Nitrates and nitrites

(iii) Urea

(iv) Atmospheric nitrogen

Nitrogen is required by plants to make protein, amino acids. Also, it is good for growth and chlorophyll formation. Plants absorb nitrogen in the form of nitrates and ammonia. The nitrate absorbed is reduced to nitrite in the cytosol by enzyme nitrate reductase.
