Ozone is a gas layer present in the stratosphere. This layer protects living beings on the Earth from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays coming from the Sun. Without the layer of ozone in the atmosphere, it would be very difficult for anything to survive on the surface. Depletion of the ozone layer has consequences on humans, animals and plants.
