Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are also called Freon. These compounds released into the atmosphere from spray cans, refrigerators, air conditioners. CFCs cause chemical reactions that break down ozone molecules. This causes reduction in absorption of ultraviolet radiation by ozone.
