Structure of soil depends upon the particle size, or the size of soil particles. Depending upon the size of soil particle other properties like their arrangements, pore size, aggregation, water retention, air flow and water movement varies. Hence size of particles classifies a specific type of soil.

All other factors comes into play after this only.
