A cool breeze blow in the afternoon on the seashore

During daytime, land gets heated up quickly, and the air above the land also gets heated faster. Hence a low pressure is created over land. Hot air is lighter, and it goes upward.

The air above the sea is cooler, and a high pressure prevails above the sea. Cool air from the sea moves towards the land to occupy the space created in the land. This cool air is called a sea breeze, and it blows in the afternoon.
