Construction of Electric bell: It consists of a gong, an electromagnet (coil wire around iron piece), an iron strip and a contact screw.

Working of Electric Bell: When the iron rod is in contact with the screw, current flows through the coil which acts as an electromagnet this further, pulls the iron strip and as a result hammer strikes gong producing the sound. When the electromagnet pulls the strip breaking the circuit, the hammer is withdrawn. As a result bell stops ringing. This process is repeated in a quick session and hammer strikes whenever the circuit is completed.
