A 1.5 m tall boy is standing at some distance from a 30 m tall building. The angle of elevation from his eyes to the top of the building increases from 30° to 60° as he walks towards the building. Find the distance he walked towards the building
According to the question:
p = 30 – 1.5 = 28.5 m,
Angle of elevation in first case = 30°
And
Angle of elevation, in second case = 60°.
Difference between bases in the first case and second case will give the distance covered by the boy.
1st case:
b = 28.5
2nd case:
Hence, the distance covered by boy:
= 28.5
= 19
