Hasan buys two kinds of cloth materials for school uniforms, shirt material that costs him Rs 50 per metre and trouser material that costs him Rs 90 per metre.
For every 2 meters of the trouser material he buys 3 metres of the shirt material.
He sells the materials at 12% and 10% profit respectively. His total sale is Rs 36,660. How much trouser material did he buy?
Let Hasan buys 2x m of cloth for trouser and 3x m of cloth for shirts.
Now, he gets 12% profit on cloth for trouser. Thus, we find out the selling price for 1 m of trouser cloth.
1 m of trouser cloth = Rs 90 (His cost price) + 12% of Rs 90(his profit)
1 m of trouser cloth = Rs 90 + Rs = Rs 100.80
Similarly, 1 m of shirt cloth = Rs 50 (His cost price) + 10% of Rs 50(his profit)
1 m of trouser cloth = Rs 50 + Rs = Rs 55
Given: The total sale is Rs 36,660
Therefore, the trouser material = 2x = 2(100) = 200m
